Senior Systems Consultant (SOSA Specialist)
Location: Bristol, South West
Salary: £35,000-£55,000
Industry: Defence
Our client is seeking a Senior SOSA Consultant to work on a range of projects for MoD, other government departments and the defence industry, particularly in the areas of: systems thinking, systems analysis, design, architecture definition, development, interoperability and through life management. The role will involve taking a leading role with mixed contractor / client teams to define architectures that comply with SOSA Principles and support decision making at all levels of TLCM.
You will be required to lead teams that apply systems engineering principles in a model based systems engineering environment. You will apply analysis techniques to support client decision making at all levels of TLCM.
The requirements Defence industry experience and domain knowledge is desirable. A demonstrable track record in the following technical disciplines is required: Systems Engineering:, Experience of delivering across the systems engineering lifecycle. Experience of systems engineering lifecycle development and tailoring. Knowledge of either ISO 15288, Rational Unified Process, or TOGAF ADM. Solid understanding of a service approach as a method of abstraction and requirements definition. Model Based Systems Engineering: Ability to apply a model driven engineering approach to address stakeholder needs. Strong and proven architecting skills, in both Enterprise Architectures and SOSA, with a clear understanding of how architectures deliver value to the enterprise at the capability, operational and technology levels. Experience of using and applying architectural frameworks (such as SysML, MODAF, Archimate, Zachman, COBIT, DODAF, NAF, with practical use of architectural methodologies such as TOGAF, Federal Enterprise Architecture or the Gartner methodology). Experience in the use of OOD concepts to develop architectural components and behaviours that are coherent and consistent. Experience of Systems Engineering tools (such as Enterprise Architect, System Architect, MooD, DOORS.)
You will ideally be degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering, mathematical or scientific discipline and have some experience in leading technical projects to time, quality and cost objectives. A relevant higher degree and/or professional qualification, e.g. CEng, would be an advantage.
Security - All candidates must be in a position to obtain UK security clearance to a minimum of SC level with no restrictions. Additional restrictions may apply on certain Defence Programmes.
Some work outside normal office hours may be necessary. Travel to and from client sites and/or temporary secondment to clients offices may also be required
