Job Description :
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer to join our client's organisation. The post is based within their multi-disciplinary Contracts team, reporting to the Contracts Director. The team provides service to customers and specifiers on bespoke products, from the first point of enquiry to Project Manager will work on projects from initial enquiries to delivery and installation on site, with responsibility for pricing and quoting new projects, and day to day project management of orders up to and including installation on site.

The role includes managing one project engineer to help in the production of drawings (using Solidworks or AutoCAD), bills of material, works orders and supporting production documentation such as project specific technical data, including O&M & Installation documents together with helping in the selection of suppliers and setting and checking of quality standards.

The selected candidate must be organised, confident and articulate, with an excellent telephone manner and personal presentation. The post holder will be required to offer direct technical advice & support to customers by phone and email, and represent the business in meetings.

This role will require a familiarity and confidence using ERP or MRP business software, as the post holder will be responsible for the efficient technical management of customer orders on our Microsoft Dynamics AX system and the production of quotations using our Fastquote quotation and enquiry management system.

Main Functions & Responsibilities

*Obtaining prices and producing quotations for enquires including creation of costing sheets.
*Provide quotations via Fastquote
*Providing technical support and assistance to the external sales team and directly to customers as required.
*Vetting and processing of orders
*Creation of GA drawings and detail drawings for approval and manufacture
*Production of bills of material and routing to allow orders to be processed through the business using AX Dynamics.

Technical Skills
*Mechanical engineer or similar qualification
*Good understanding of general manufacturing processes appropriate to the company profile.
*Excellent communication skills, specifically relating to telephone manner and written English
*Commercially aware
*Highly computer literate - comfortable working with electronic systems including ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office and Project
*AutoCAD or Solidworks experience would be ideal but this is not a full time drafting role although the successful candidate must be able to create, read and manipulate drawings.
