Job Description :
Our client is a clean power systems company involved within proprietary fuel cell and hydrogen generation technology platforms, with the ability to create bespoke power systems for OEMs and their global mass markets.
They are looking to appoint a Production Test Team Leader - Operations based in Loughborough.

Job Purpose
Create and lead the Production Test team to meet the ever increasing needs of the business.
Define and implement the Intelligent Energy Production Test strategy and supervise the team in support of business objectives. The Test Strategy needs to address immediate operational needs and also support new product development, ensuring that the test equipment designs are available to ensure timely procurement and deployment.
Key Accountabilities
Develop the Production Test team in line with the strategic and tactical needs of the business.
Develop and implement Production Test strategies for each product type.
Conduct production testing in support of prototype and early low volume builds.
Provide technical expertise to the Commissioning test team at manufacturing sites.
Manage the overall test capacity on individual manufacturing sites, ensuring minimal capital expenditure whilst maintaining sufficient capacity to achieve the production demand schedule and still having the flexibility to respond to production uplifts.
Maintain a master test demand schedule, aligned with production plans; to ensure that test resource is available to meet the Intelligent Energy product road map.
Collate and analyse test data from all manufacturing sites to identify potential failure trends and areas for improvement both in the available test solutions and in future product designs.
Identify areas for reducing the capital cost of providing test solutions.
Provide leadership to the manufacturing test team and promote a positive culture that establishes the team as an integral part of the business
Experience
Production test professional in an engineering and Project environment.
Design and implementation of robust test methods for electrical/electronic devices.
Experience of medium / high volume manufacture, ideally in consumer electronics or automotive sectors.
Strong understanding of electro/mechanical engineering.
Proven record of managing multiple projects.
Experience in managing production test at partner/contract manufacturing sites.
Proven record of improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes.
An ability to monitor and analyse testing costs.
