Job Description :
My client is an online document warehouse for the storage and retrieval of massive volumes of electronic documents - for the purposes of web presentment, report distribution or online archiving. By providing fast, easy access to billions of documents, The client is an efficient foundation for interaction between customers, partners and suppliers. It is used as a business critical application by many well-known organisations in the UK, Europe and the US.

My client requires an experienced C++ software developer to fill a key position in my client development team. The successful candidate will be given "end-to-end" responsibility for new product features that will help grow our product in exciting new markets. They will also be expected to assist with maintenance, support and automated test development. We are an established team based in Central Manchester, and pride ourselves on our team spirit.

Essential Skills:

* At least 5 years' experience of C/C++ development for business critical environments.
* Full project lifecycle experience (design/develop/document/test/release/support/maintain/enhance).
* Extensive knowledge of cross-platform, multi-threaded software development.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

* In depth knowledge of Windows, UNIX and Linux environments
* High-performance, high-availability design
* UI development (Windows/Web/Mobile)
* Cross-platform web server development (Apache/IIS)
* Automated testing (e.g. HP Quick Test Pro)
* Continuous Integration (e.g. Hudson, Subversion, ANT, Cruise Control)
* RDBMS integration (SQL, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL)
* LDAP/Active Directory integration
* Java development
