Job Description :
Two Structure Project Engineers are required to join one of the worlds leaders in the design and manufacture of satellite systems, based in Stevenage.
The Project Structures Engineer must:
ØSupport the Project Responsible Engineer during the life of the project.
ØBe accountable to the Responsible Engineer for the detailed design of those structural items defined by the Responsible Engineer.
ØLiaise with the Design Office, Stress, Equipping, AIT, the Toulouse project team and other departments as necessary to optimise the design definition and to ensure that all structural requirements for those items defined by the Responsible Engineer are met.
ØBe responsible for the detailed checking of manufacturing drawings to ensure compliance with the structural design requirements.
ØAttend Team and Interface meetings to develop and maintain familiarity with the project.
ØBe responsible for the release of Advanced Order BOMs, BOMs, and ECOs etc in Sprint, in accordance with Responsible Engineer requirements, and with sign-off in accordance with the applicable design delegation matrix.
ØBe responsible for supporting the Responsible Engineer in the provision of design documentation as required to support project reviews.
ØBe responsible for producing, early during the Customisation phase, a drawing release plan, endorsed by the project Responsible Engineer. This plan is to be regularly updated during the design lifecycle.
ØBe responsible for supporting the Responsible Engineer with work-package management activities as required.
ØBe responsible for raising significant issues to the project Responsible Engineer as necessary.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or demonstrated relevant experience. Good communication skills and understanding of the English language. Aerospace structural design process experience
Desirable: Computer literate with a good working standard of Microsoft Office package.
Previous Experience
Essential: Related experience in an aerospace structures design role.
Desirable: Experience of Composites and Aerospace or lightweight engineering. Previous aerospace design experience with a working knowledge of structural analysis. CatiaV5 & Sprint experience.
